Deal Flow Pulse: July 2026

July brought a broad and active pipeline across both sides of what we do at Plantec: direct investment and mandate-supported fundraising.

Direct investment

On the direct investment side, we looked at opportunities across AI infrastructure, sports technology, and financial software. The quality of technical thinking in the deep tech pitches this month was genuinely high. Where we paused, it was usually on business model clarity or on a mismatch between what the founder is building and the infrastructure-layer plays we look for at pre-seed and seed.

Mandate support

On the mandate side, we have been actively supporting founders and companies through capital raise processes across healthtech, B2B fintech, and telco-adjacent AI. The common thread in the strongest mandates: founders who have revenue traction, a clear investor thesis, and a genuine understanding of where they sit in the market. Narrative work matters, but it only lands when the fundamentals are real.

Where we passed

We also passed clearly on a number of inbounds. A managed services business with solid revenue but no infrastructure angle. Consumer products that do not fit our B2B thesis. Pre-product pitches where the business model remained genuinely unclear even after a full conversation.

Passes are as important to us as investments. Knowing what we do not back is how we stay focused on what we do.

If you are raising at pre-seed to Series A in fintech, workforce tech, telecoms, sports tech, or deep tech, or if you need mandate support for a capital raise, we would be glad to hear from you.
